I think the idea of a split is excellent. Perhaps immediately before and after a dinner break. I do think 20:30 was too late a start time for this full session, too. I also think we need to cut down a bit more on the presentation and question time for bids that are further out. Allowing questions for bids up to 2024 seemed excessive. At this point, bids for beyond 2020 are really quite speculative and we don't need to grill the presenters. They just need a minute to mention they're looking at a bid, where for and by whom, and then people can question them individually, volunteer, organise counter-bids, try to persuade them to shift year or drop the bid... offline. I also think we need to get the presentation of pass-along checks out of this. It's nice to see and all, but even the five minutes it takes doesn't seem worth it unless we're managing to really cut down the rest of it. Unfortunately I won't make Chicago due to other travel committement in November and later in December next year (nothing directly clashing, but I can't travel to KL in mid-November, Auckland in mid-December, the UK at Christmas and fit in Chicago for Smofcon:-( ).
