Show Prep Done

I think I've done everything I can for Match Game SF. There's a chance that some of the questions may overlap Westercon, because I can't remember exactly where we left off in San José, but the overlap, if it's there, is only one game. The prize packages are set up, and the announcer material is printed. The only problem is that we still don't have an announcer! I'm still trying to figure out how we're going to manage that one.

The announcer is the person who says "Get Ready to Match the Stars!" and reads the names of the panelists at the start. The announcer also reads the commercials between games, and also announces the names of the contestants and reads out what the prizes are.

In practice, you sit at the Tech Desk next to Lisa and [livejournal.com profile] travelswithkuma and read the announcer copy (everything is all printed up and ready to go).

If you're available after the Hugo ceremony (scheduled start is Saturday 10 PM, and effectively we'd want you to hot-foot it to Sorrento 2-4 as soon as you can so we're ready to go), and you think you have that "game show announcer" voice, then you're hired.

Sure. Why not :)

Do I need to dress smart?

No, unless you were planning on doing so for the Hugo Awards anyway. I'll be in my suit because that's my Game Show Host costume, but everyone else is come-as-you-like.

I'll decide when I pack on Tuesday :)

Oh, and not at all incidentally, thank you!

As Kevin says below. You are my friend. :)

(fwiw, I'm the one who'll be actually handing out the prizes [so you don't have to], among other duties, and was a potential emergency holographic announcer)
