As I was heading to the office today, I got a call from my dentist's office. They told me that if I came up to Redwood Shores straight away, they could replace the crown that cracked off. That's easier said than done at 7:30 AM on the first workday of the week after a long weekend. I'm not sure I got up to a speed above 25 MPH between San Jose and Palo Alto, but I did eventually get there, and they cast a new temporary crown and fitted it. I need to be much more careful for the next month. The temporary crown really is mostly there to protect the stub of the tooth and can't take a lot of pressure, so I must carefully only chew on the left side of my mouth until next month when the new crown arrives. I could get a week sooner than I'm scheduled, but I'll be working from home the week the crown gets back from the lab, so I've put off the final fitting until I get back to the Bay Area.
