kevin_standleeThis morning when Kayla was on her way to breakfast, she spotted not one, but two rabbits in our field.
They did not seem to notice having their pictures taken as they nibbled around the East Lot.

Date: 2025-06-07 06:06 am (UTC)My neighbor has a raised bed by their house in which she has garlic growing with a straw mulch on top. This evening she told me that she was startled to find a bunny in it and one of her boys used the hose to get it out. Then to her dismay, she discovered the nest with babies tucked away under the straw and doesn't know if the mother will return to them. I suggested calling our local humane society in the morning for advice.

Date: 2025-06-07 12:42 pm (UTC)I've been hoping that maybe these rabbits are forming a new home in our field. I think most of the survivors of the West Lot clearance are now over across the railroad tracks, where there is space and few people bothering them.
